Around the December 12, UK-hosted Climate Ambition Summit, a number of countries submitted new long-term strategies to the UNFCCC, bringing the total number to 29. All of the newly submitted LTS target net zero emissions by 2050, if not sooner.
The following countries submitted LTS:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- Korea
- Latvia
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland (submitted Jan 2021)
A number of additional countries are in the final stages of elaborating long-term strategies and are expected to submit this year.
